Title: Windscreen renovation.
Post by: Big Tone on 07 July 2011, 08:12
After tidying the car up bit by bit, it is now the windscreen which "lets her down", the fact that it is ten years old means that the wiper marks are permanent on the glass.

Whats the best way to restore this? Or should I think about a replacement?

I have a rotary I could use, arent windscreens laminated? Which means I can't really do anything yes?

You can get products to remove scratches - a Google search reveals plenty.  Glass can get hot quickly so I wouldn't use the rotary on it.
Jeweller's Rouge is another cheaper option.

Cheers, thought id look for advice because when you search, so much stuff comes up you doing know what to believe.

Am I right in saying that once the windscreen is done, carlack68 long life sealant is the one to use? What about jetseal?

I've heard good things about the Carlack Glass Sealing kit. Are you looking for water repellent screen or nice and shiny?

I've not used this kit myself but for the money it's worth a punt: http://www.glassscratchrepair.co.uk/how-use.htm
