You'll get a Fiat Punto rear wiper in a scrappie for two or three quid. It looks the job, does not rust but the area of sweep is not quite so good.

You have to grind or drill the hole in the arm a liittle to fit over the VW spindle.

or get a polo coupe one which does the job as well.
