Title: Thatcham Alarm

I picked up my P-reg GTi 8v yesterday, and my insurance company have told me I need a Thatcham Cat2 or Cat1 alarm fitted - otherwise I'll get jack $hit if its stolen or broken into.
I need this doing asap too, cos the driver door lock doesn't work properly, I'm having to use the passenger side to lock the car....remote locking on the alarm will fix that!

So, which alarm do I get?

I'm on a budget, so cheapest and best value is what I'm after.

I've had a Cobra 692? Cat1 and a Clifford Concept 300 in the past....but thats £300+ each.
Any ideas greatfully received.............

You can get a CAT1 full closure Laserline alarm fitted for about £250.  Look at the Toad alarms and Sigma, although they are more expensive than Laserline.
