Title: Stage 3, what map
Post by: MaXXeH on 04 July 2011, 20:49
Hi all,

Well the car has been modded to the nuts   it just needs mapping. (k04,THS ic, S3 injecters, all boost pipes replaced, Full miltek system)(what i can think of)

I was thinking revo as they are local and you can change your map settings on the fly.

I am in margate so some places are miles away

What do you guys think?

was thinking around the 350bhp mark

Hmm, I'll go a bit lower at around 335bhp after seeing a revo stage 3 one.

Don't be seduced by just big numbers as it's how the hp is delivered and the accompanying torque spread that matters.

IMHO

He's only right.

Custom map on a dyno followed by on road testing for that seat of your pants feel is by far the best way to get your car tuned

Have you fitted the HPFP aswell?

330/335bhp 330lbft is a realistic for K04 mapping any more power and they heat soak like mad. We did an stage2 Ed30 to 330lbft/325lbft and I was awesome power from 2500rpm to the red line, it annihilated and 370bhp scooby.

im not that far from you surely there should be someone close that custom maps ?? why not just take the plunge and drive to RTech atleast you know what they are doing and a lot more accurate BHP results.. If i spent the money you have on the car and mods i know what i would do

it is a custom map on the rolling road.   They just cost so much, i am scared to drive it that far, might die it runs like a bag of sh!t lol

I don't know how literal you are being here, but if it is really that bad, then would it not be more prudent to get it running right before you whack the power up. The map is only going to increase the load on the engine which, if not running right just now, might give up altogether.  :undecided:
