Ok change of plan, just bought myself a stealth shelf. I'm gonna buy an amp and some 6x9s, would there be any problems with mounting the amp upside down under the shelf, in between the 2 speakers?
I don't want it shaking apart or anything, but I can't think of anywhere else to put it since I have no boot build of any description! :P

This is where i've mounted mine, not tidied up yet, think i'm gonna bix it in but just an idea!

I've mounted my amp on the back of the rear seat had no problems with it.

DON'T mount it upside down! The headsink is designed for heat to travel up - away from the circuit board. if you mount it upside down the head will travel towards it!
I'd mount it where Chis said. or if you want on the back of the seat
-
i wouldnt mount it on the underside of the shelf either, but not because of what dizzie said, although that makes sense, but becuase my old stelth shelf the speakers would occasionally fall out  and cause me to worry that my suspension was falling tou......
-
ive mounted mine like chris has. I made a bracket so the amp sits further out as my amp is bigger. Good solid area to mount a small amp
-
Good job I didn't just go ahead and do it  Thanks for the help. I'll prob mount it where Chris has, then it won't be in the way when I use the boot :)

Im in the process of building a floor in my mk3 with my amp bolted to the underside and a smallish hole to allow it to poke through. Should keep it out the way without hiding it. Also making a custom sub box ready for inters but il get pics on here hopefully in the next week. too many ideas, not enough time!
-
Golfpro's floor, to be fitted on tues...(this is not the actual sub, just one i got out of the shop to give you guys (and phil) and idea!

i'm going for the same.. amp in false floor.. that;ll be hinging to allow access to spare wheel..
sub will be stealthed in the space behind rear passenger side wheel arch
-
stealthing the sub wasnt an option as Golfpro is a PGA Pro golfer so neds to use the side space for clubs!
otherwise that is what would have been done, that is what my dad has got in his Jabba'd Ibiza Cupra
-
No stealthing the sub aint an option but im goin to build a thin sub box to go right accross the boot at the back to give me just a little more room.
Not holdin up any hope whatsoever of gettin that done b4 inters next weekend tho!
Oh well, thats another thing to add to the ever growin list!
