Thats right.
Most of you would think 675 pounds worth of mechanic would insure the car wouldnt break down. Few miles from my mates house, what happens? Yep you guessed it. Konks out.
Exactly the same problem it went it with originally, fuel not getting to engine due to fusebox.
So tempted just to try and get rid of at one of the shows or ebay. I would loose probably 1000 quid but im sooo pi$$ed of and depressed with dealing with engine issues i cant describe.
-
Sorry to hear that.........anything I can do to help? Whats the problem?
-
arh hun...you aint havin much luck like
Dinx

stick with it dude
sit down
have a brew
read a vw mag , to remind you how good things really can be,.
ring the garage , tell them straight dont let them f*ck you about,.
and think summers coming  , 30 degree's, window down , music playing, cruising in your vw,
the hassle is worth it if you can get past the bad times
SNAP............. what the f**K was that, right thats it whats the web site for ebay, the bag of sh*t golf is going. forget what i just
said it was a load of b*ll*cks.

Fuel wont get to the engine. Either fuel pump not working, or more likely the fusebox/plug is buggered.
Got a lovely time of being towed to the garage on Monday.
-
well..y dont ya c if its ya fuel pump before takin it to the garage..cudn ya just get a replacement?,tis easy enuff to do.. :undecided:
dinx
-
sorry to herar you are having a bad time bud

I dont know much about MK1's but check the relay. Take the horn relay out and place that in your fuel pump relay socket. If the pump runs then its the relay hopefuly  It the pump runs then it should start
Dont worry. hope it gets sorted
-
Im pretty sure its the fusebox, not the pump.
Im certainly not an expert with cars, so not sure what the fusebox situation was but i remember him saying he couldnt get hold of a plug.

Ok. looking at your profile, it looks like you are in Reading? I'm in Yateley..........pop over.........I'm not having you give up. We'll fix it, believe you me I do know these cars well and I'll rejuvenite your passion in these motors in no time at all. I have more spare fuse boxes, engines, everything you could dream of. Whack GU466DU in multimap and you'll see I'm only down the road.
