Problems are few and far between on all vws , that why we love them  :D  I don't think either model will have any different problem than any other. The most popular problems seem to be idle problems and problems with fuel pump relays.

Firstly i would try getting on a fault reader. Sounds like a dodgy sensor, ie. airflow meter, lambda sensor.

i have had problems recently with my car not starting up first time as well. it only happends now and again but if i give it a bit of gas it fires up. I have put the problem down to Optimax as this has only happend since i started using the stuff

I doubt optimax would give you problems.

well i have been using optimax for 2 weeks now and this problem has ocured in those weeks.

i have a Pilot Green Fuel saver fited to my car. Maybe because the pilot green improves the molecular combustion of petrol by means of magnetism and the optimax has additives in it, there might be some sort of conflict or sumthing.
i thing i will try going back to regular, see if that sorts things out!
