Try quote line direct there pretty good for first time drivers. I choose them after getting my license back which i lost for drink driving 5 1/2 years ago and they were the best for that sort of thing worth a try anyway

www.bell.co.uk have always been good for me.
Try adding experienced drivers as named drivers, tends to bring the premium down a little

cheers for the reply's so far.
the 13grand quote was with an experienced driver added with full ncb.lol
i would'nt mind paying about £4000, if they gave you back half if there were no claims made within that year, would be a good insentive, and could also go towards the next years insurance.
i can now see why there are so many young driver's out there with no insurance at all. also alot of his mates have got parent's or family to (front) insure cars in their name with the new driver named on the policy. which is illegal too!

try admiral paying upfront, i got insured on a saxo vtr at 18 with 0ncb for £1,450..

However old you are when you past your driving test, your first car insurance policy is likely to be expensive. Often, policies for new drivers cost more than their actual cars.
Car insurance is a legal requirement in the UK, so - as cover is not optional - there are steps new drivers can take to find the cheapest possible car insurance.
A great place to start is our comparison tool which will help you to compare new driver insurance quotes from more than 100 companies
