Mine was a 5 door. It was not my cup of tea plus its an extra 2 window motors, locks and handles to go wrong. The only bonus with 5 over 3 is that if you flip the seat forward to let out a rear passenger with the sun visor down, it can rip it off. Plus a 3 door can be stripped out and not look wrong

depends what you need it for?

I was going to get a 5 door as i thought it would be easier until i relalised the number of times i actually have people in the back isnt worth it so i decided to get the 3 door as i also feel there safer (2 less doors to break into) and look better

But if you for ever find yourself taking people everyhwere or you have a baby or wanting a family then a 5 door would be best.

Either way both can look great if you do them right :afro:

Always preferred 3 doors, as think the personally look better

But when I got my 1.8t last week, had to get a 5 door, due to having a little girl now and was a compromise with the girlfriend!

Now I have it, I think there is not much difference looks wise in the 3 or 5 door and is a hell of a lot easier getting the baby in and out!

i went for a 5 door for the kiddie reasons and the fact i thaught its probably had more chance of been family owned and not raped as much.most of the 3 doors i looked at were owned by young lads and i thaught THRASHED, just my oppinion being an old giffa

We have the three door - and kids aged 4, 9 and 14.

They never came with the car, we already had them! The golf is our second car and the little one is still in her sea, but it is no hassle really getting the bel done up - and there are no windows and door handles for her to try to open like she does in the BMW!

So we went for looks - I really don't think there is much in it. It looks the same from the drivers seat when you are trying not to break the speed limit!

To be honest I'm not sure what it's worth now, I'd have to do some market research.

Definatley, I always look after my cars. I've just got to scrape a few more pounds together, then prep it for sale. Saving up a bit more could take me a few months too.

That's alot of money isn't it, don't think I've splashed out so much oh one, well once I did. It's alot for me for a week anyway!

Then again, my last holiday was in cyprus, but it was all paid for by her majesty!
