Title: electric windows problem mk3 gti 8v

hi all,
i have a problem with my electric window on the drivers side,problem being it will not work in hot weather,it works fine in the morning when its cool outside,but when the car has been in the sun for a bit it stops working,i can hear the relay clicking on the door switch when pressed and the passenger door window works fine from both switches,anyone help would be most appreciated,

The heat will have nothing to do with your problem Mate. A common fault on the Mark 3's is the wiring in the door. Check the wiring in the rubber sleeve that goes from the car body to the door. Pull the rubber sleeve back and check for any damage to wires.

thanks for your reply i will have a look at that ,i have tried moving the wires while they are still in the sleeve but that did not do anything,i thought i could be a earth problem, but thought i would see if anyone on here had any ideas before i start taking the door apart,many thanks for your reply,
