Title: fuel pump straining ?
Post by: lord14 on 28 June 2011, 10:15
i have an inline pump witha 3bar reg on a 1.8t engine , and for some reason its all of a sudden started straining , ive put a guage before the rail to test fuel pressure and its at 4 bar , its just when i connect to the rail it starts straining really bad and then melts the fuses and makes the wire hot

If there is no blockage then i would think the pump itself is at fault.
The pump could be ok until its properly under load.
Maybe try a cheap second hand unit?
