Ok so I'm going to share a lovely little tip with you all, boiled linseed oil. You can pick it up from most DIY shops or eBay, a little goes a LONG way, and these are the results I got (and an excuse to show off my lovely clean car).

crikey those are like new! I'll be down me DIY shop tomorrow I think!
-
I think most know about it already mate. Never used it as apparently it gets very streaky when wet and doesnt last very long. Looks great on the pics though.
-
used it on my mk2 bumpers and it lasted til i sold it 3 months on, may still be going strong. And i've never had it streak
-
^^^^
Yup! Lasts a long time, does not streak and costs not very much!
I loves it!
-
Autoglym bumper care is very good as well.
-
Ideal thread for the detailing section....
Guy may add this into the black bumper thread on there? :undecided:
-
so do you boil the stuff then apply it or let it go cold??
-
Think Tim had a problem with this stuff. A reaction with a cloth and it caught fire inside his boot.
Probably worth binning the cloth and having a bin fire
-
No you buy "boiled linseed oil".

You won't even use a third of that amount, probably not even a quarter.

Definitely! Used the stuff recently and I reckon its transformed the look of my car! Looks very "complete" now, and its still going strong a few weeks on with all the heavy rain we've had
-
Chemciical guys trim sealant stuff is great :smug:
-
ive got chem guys new look trim get. Not a fan tbh way too greasy and it runs when it rains.
I also managed to get car wax on the trims. Buffed off to a nice sheen.

Oh I've not noticed I just buff off after an hour so it doesn't look to shiney..
-
That stuff's good for a cheap alternative.
I put it on with a j cloth then buff it off with a microfibre.

+1 on the linseed oil
although on hot days it does smell like chips :undecided:
-
Has anyone tried tyre wall blackener on their bumpers?
Probably a daft thing to ask, but was just wondering it it would last longer because its thicker and gloupier
-
Looks good although i think you missed the front splitter in one of the pics?
I have found that the Meguirs stuff is pretty good compared to most other blackeners on the market.
-
i did mine using this method.. looks fab!
so thanks for the tip x
