Nice car if the mileage is genuine, manual box is a bonus too but thirsty beast..
-
its cheap lol
-
Hmmm i dont like when people put its a bargain in an ad! :lipsrsealed: Looks ok but 57k hmm who knows buying second hand cars is always a gamble especially that age but Gl mate
-
Advert says its an A6 but clearly its an A8??!?!?
-
No its definately an A6
I'm looking at it tomorrow as its quite close.
I know exactly what to look for, its pretty much the same as Audi 100 Quattro C4, which i owned for a couple of years.
-
It's the font that makes the 6 almost look like an 8 in that pic.
Nice car and good mileage (if it's real), hope you've got shares in a petroleum refinery
-
That's the point i'm downgrading
The a6 2.6 v6 is only 150bhp, its a lump for torque not power.
Compared to running the A8 4.2 V8, its going to be cheap on fuel
I expect it will be sh!t, but you never know!! then i will have to make a decision

First thing i look at when i buy a car is the house it lives at, chances are if they can afford a nice house they can afford the garage bills.
-
Looks clean and tidy.
Good luck

Too late. Just got a text saying it is sold
-
D'oh! looked a steal at that price too.

Oh well, just as well, if it was as good as it looked then i would of put money down.
I'm not sure i want to sell the A8, so i would of been in big trouble with the wife

I love A8's, perfect cruiser.
RONIN!

Its a very nice car.
BUT parts are expensive, and its a nightmare to work on.
Don't even start about the fuel consumption

Bet the petroleum share owners love you! lol
Thought parts would have been ok, what year is it? Mind you a aircon pump for my V5 was £600!

1998 4.2 ABZ.
It takes 7.5 litres of oil for a start, 4 brake pads per wheel on the front, timing belt needs 3 special tools and comes in several parts, its got the same front suspension as passat(4 control arms each side), gearbox takes special ATF which is 10 quid a litre and filler plug is underneath, the headgaskets list about a days labour to change....
I could go on and on and on
Basically even doing simple service jobs takes ages, its the worst car i've ever worked on
-
Keep the A8 Corin!

 I had a A8 Quattro 4.2 V8 for about 6 weeks last year. I was kidding myself when I bought it that the mpg wouldn't be too bad, even taking it uber gentle it still only did 20mpg. Otherwise it was a great car, swapped it for a A4 Tdi though.
OK non VAG but Saab 9-5 Aero's are hard to beat, mpg in the 30's and faster than the A8. Just looking for one myself at the moment.

Keep the A8 Corin!
Yeah I probably will Len, i'm just worried about the gearbox blowing up! :undecided:
