Title: G60 conversion
Post by: Danny_8v on 23 June 2011, 12:25
What price should I be paying for a G60 lump with EVERYTHING?

I've been offered one that has been fully rebuilt with receipts to prove,

Comes with ECU, all wiring, gearbox etc!

The charger has had a recon at G-werks, also with receipts!

What you guys think? It's replacing a 8v, so not too much work!

£1600

 seems expensive but for everything I would guess it is about the right money.

1.8 20V t would be a better choice

sounds a bit steep .. would need to be pristine with every last scrap of paper to prove low milage and service etc

its not that great of a engine really , you could do better for the money

I thought it may be a little steep, it is absolutely mint, the guy who's letting it go is proper anal guy when it comes to doing his Vdubs!

I was only looking at getting a new bottom end for my 8v and had this as a one off possibility! Would love to do it though!

Got the money, just don't want to spend it willy nilly!

Anymore comments welcome!

Fully rebuilt when and who buy. Seems a little pricey but not mental if it's as described.

It's been done by a guy in Notts, he's a major VW enthusiast, build was recent, not sure on dates, still need to find the exact details out.

Looking on the forum, it looks ok money for a minter.

Do you guys think it's a better idea to do the 2.0 bottom and sell the car and get a ready to go G60?

Would I see a relative increase in resale value if I do the G60 conversion?

I don't want to sell really but I want the extra power!
