Anyone had any experience of these piggy back performance modules?? Any good or just a con. Might be a cheap way to get some go out of my 8v.. then again seems a bit too good to be true?
-
The only way your get anything out an 8v , is to take it out and put a 16v in ;) :P
-
Far too much hassle as its my daily shopper. Performanc wise I rely on the MK1!!!
so have you heard about these things???
-
Whats an AIM Module? wheres it go? whats it do? ???
-
Yeah, what is it anyway?
-
Its a piggyback chip that you connect up to your ECU and it alters the fuel mixture to make the car think its under heavt load apparently. They cost about a tenner ad claim an extra 10-20bhp. Im doubtful.....
-
Sounds a bit iffy to me :D
-
loads of them for sale on ebay. might give it a go and see what it does.
-
How much for?
-
between 7-15 quid
-
Sounds like sh!t to me mate, give it a miss.
-
From what I gather it tricks the ECU into thinking the car is sucking air in at a different temp and the ecu responds by chucking more fuel in. Doesnt sound good at all to me, MPG wil go out the window.
-
And running a far too rich a mixture >:(
-
Sounds a bit of a hideous idea to me, surely that would clog up the engine eventually :-\
-
Just leave well alone, sounds sh!t ::)
