1999 golf 1.8t agu
My car started spluttering under load today under full and half throttle with no power but you can hear the turbo spooling up but was sort of kangarooing.If i unplug the maf it seems much better??
So today ive decided to spend some time on the old nail so far ive changed
1. all boost pipes
2. spark plugs
3. new bosh maf
3. air filter
an expensive day off :sad: ,any how ive found a breather pipe that has two splits in it that comes from the under side of the inlet manifold behind the plastic dipstick holder was just wondering if this could be my problems.unfortunately i have no access to vag com so no error codes..any help much apreciated as i could attack it with a large hammer at the min

i did find this but as the description on that thread was a bit vague i wasnt sure it was the same pipe and it said none turbo model so i thaught any one3s guess wot its about lol

When I bought mine it had a few fault codes, when I took the engine cover off I noticed most of the breather hoses were perished so thats the first thing I changed. When i reset the faults they never came on again.
So yes it does make a difference :smiley: Cheap fix

ive changed the big breather pipe with the copper insert and the big sir clip the other week but didnt notice this one :embarassed:,i hope it fixes it or it shall be going im sick of all the problems with this car its had over 2 grand chucked at it since xmas on a clutch,wheel bearings,intercooler,alloys and other bits and bobs :sick:

changed the pipe tonight and took it for a spin all seems good apart from the lack of boost still,:rolleyes: ,just need a new n75 valve now and try that and fingers crossed it will feel like it has some poneys under the bonnet

when u say your car performs better when u unplug the maf sensor mine does the opposit
if i unplug mine i hardly have any power and cant hear the turbo spooling , soon as i plug the maf back in , i get the power back and i can hear the turbo
does this sound right? or is there something wrong?

that sounds right to me,it was just the opposite with the split breather (but wasnt boosting to the right level due to a faulty n75)hense why i changed the maf,just a pitty i didnt spot the split pipe 1st as i could have saved my pennys :sad: ow well it cant do it any harm having a new maf on
