This reminds me of XR3i's dressed up to look like RS Turbo' back in the day (I think my age quailfies me to use that phrase)

If you want a GTD, you would be better off saving your cash and buying one.

I had two Audi A3 S-Line's over 6 years and I don't think it looks anywhere near as nice as the GTD.

I don't expect anything for free and am more than willing to give you a good drink for a rear spoiler. Oh, and can you get a pair of blue motion side skirts whilst you are there?

As you have easy access to free parts, it would be a pity for you to miss out on the oppertunity of making some bunce out if it.

black headlining
Yummy sports seats
GTD badge and flat bottomed steering wheel

The list goes on...

there was a guy on here who had done the GTD "upgrade" with with two TDi Golfs -  a white one and a black one - will see if I can find the pics.....

I'm doing that - going from a Mk5 TDI to a Mk6 GTD all you need is around 20 grand
Title: Re: TDI TO GTD
Post by: dubber36 on 21 June 2011, 08:25
At a guess

Bumper
Grill
Side skirts
Rear bumper
Wheels

I'm going to be helpfull so that he might help me out with the parts that I'd like, so to follow on from Rhyso's list

Front bumper
Front bumper grilles
Front foglights (inc loom, switch and coding)
Front grille and GTD badge
Side cill mouldings
Rear bumper
Tailgate spoiler
Rear privicy glass
Rear GTD badge
Twin outlet exhaust with chrome tips
15mm lower suspension
Wheels

I'm sure others will come up with some other parts, but if you have to pay for all that, plus painting, plus fitting, it would probably add up to the price to change for a proper GTD anyway.

Hi Daz,

Thought you were dead, it's good to see you posting again

... nah, I was just pissed off that my threads/posts kept getting deleted by closed minded, belligerent moderators. (not you obviously)

Also, the more offensive posters seem to be behaving themselves since I was last here.

I still google for 'GTD forum' this website does not appear at all.

Besides all that, my new GTD is due in 2 days
