Title: Bushes
Post by: neil1780 on 20 June 2011, 10:44
Got a knocking noise coming from the front suspension it's not the top mounts it's from underneath somewhere. So I'm going to replace the wishbone and arb bushes and drop links. Do I need to get them pressed in?

Was looking at wishbones and can get them new for around 60 for the pair would it be easier to just replace the wishbones or just the bushes?

just buy the wishbones with pre-fitted bushes - as you say about £30 a side from places like tierod99 (ebay) and vwpspares.co.uk

Easier by far.

Or you could go down the polybushing route...

Cheers mate exatly what I thought.

It did cross my mind but is it worth it as I don't really do the twisties prefer straight line speed. Do they need to be pressed in the same as I'm sure I read something that there in two parts an don't need pressed.

yeah easy to put in, a bit tricky getting the old ones out. I used a vice, threaded rod and socket, washers and nuts together with a hacksaw.
