Mk4 1.8t, you should be able to pick up a nice one well under budget, and spend what's left over on some decent coilies, remap and a couple of other performance mods

:rolleyes:no but your car gets covered with it when its windy got to wash my car every day would hate to wreck a mk2 and you dont see many rusty mk4s
-
fair nuff, by the sounds of it what ever car you buy you'll have to keep on top of washing and maintaining it, i would poss suggest when you get your new car if it's that bad where you work, wax oil the underneath of it, just for a bit of extra protection  you found anything yet?

ScottV6 is selling his mk4 4mo (it's in dubrides). Nice looking car!
-
im looking to sell my 1.8T golf , silver 98k in silver, cambelt changed at 86k it has full original r32 bodykit, debaged grill, and boot, badboy bonnet but ive had it trimed, black halo lights, black and clear rear lights, 18" black kei alloys, coilovers, upgraded boost pipe, and other pipes, dump valve and induction kit. the car comes with climate control, heated seats. i might have left some bits off, the reason im selling is i have 3 kids and looking for a passat or audi a4 im looking for £4500-£5000 if it doesnt sell then im taking it to vdub players at nothweald in sept 18th.

At a guess i'd say you'll be looking at getting around half that amount! The classifieds are at the bottom of the home page btw

No chance, you can get a mk5 for 5k, you will be lucky to see £2500 mods don't double the value.

S3

S3
for 5k it will be a high miler boy racer dump..
a decent S3 is 7k up
-
Octavia vRS is a good choice, £4k gets a real nice car plus £1k for mods.
-
i dont really want to sell but the misses keeps telling me to get a cheaper run around so if i aim the price high then its not going to sell! to me thats forward planning.

thats bull, my mate dan has just picked one up with 70k, 1 owner from audi, full audi leeds history for £4500, minter, no mods on it, really nice car
and yes Vrs for the win, few engine mods and thet are real street weapons
-
think yourt mate is pulling ya leg roger, i was gonna buy a full car for my donor, iv seen whats out their
for a mint car with 70k you will pay more much more than that, especially with a 1 garage full history
look at this - a 99 year car with 80k @£7k
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3045369.htm
and here is one for 4.5K with 115k miles, cheaper they get the more miles they have
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/2799259.htm
theirs one on piston heads for £5200 with 90K
who did your mate buy his off ? family member ?
-
got proof mate been in it this morning hes had it for about 3 weeks, ben has seen the car on are way to the meet the other week, its mint, private seller in the trader, he'd been looking for weeks for a tidy one
-
Wow, seems to good to be true mate that.. sure its not been clocked and thats its 1 owner with 1 garage full history??
not doubting you jsut seems a lil strange compaired to everything else that is out their on the market :undecided:
-
no bull mate, the thin is cleaner than yours, got it off an old boy who has loved it and cleaned it, think dan said it was up for about the 5k mark, he went down with cash and got it, drivers seat has little wear, it is supper clean, when i see him tuesday in my shop will get some picks if i remember to take my camera

Cant see it been cleaner than mine TBH, not unless the owner had the same issues as me   guessing not if theirs wear on drivers seat etc.. bet the engine is not as clean either
jury is out till i see it and the service book and V5  if it does tie up that a good deal...
-
tough choice if you want to spend 5k on a golf imo. Considering you can get a mk4 1.8t for 10-20% of your budget, i'd be upset if i spent that much on a mk4, yet a mk5 would blow the budget by a long way.
s3, s4, cupra-R or vrs for me at that money i think :undecided:
-
Cupra r....will be my next car hopefully
-
You want to get yourself a nice mk3 8v mate and you'll have plenty left over for sweeties and burgers.
