Will a GTI/GTD top VW/badge grill fit on an R?
Anyone know if the bumper cutout is the same for the grills?

Yes, they are interchangeable. The grille is in two pieces and the rear part is the same for all the cars but with a different GTI/GTD/R specific front piece.
