Title: Ignition Switch Not working - Replaced with button (JDM Style YO)
Post by: iyrix on 17 June 2011, 10:18
Hey Guys,

When i got the car it never started off the key, the previous owner had put a small push button switch above to start the car.

What im not too sure about now is..  Do you think any wiring has been changed?  or if i just change the ignition switch i will be working with the key again?

Any advice would be great.

Cheers
G.

Yes mate it will be modded. Easy fix though as I had the same thing when I bought mine. They will have cut the red/black wire from ign switch to the starter and added this and an ignition live to the button. Remove the ignition live and rejoin the red/black wire and fit a new ignition switch. Simples!

Cheers mate,

Will have a look at this at the weekend.  Push start is not so cool when the button is more like a light switch! :-D

Just trace the wiring back and remove as required.
