These graphics are taken with a Nvidia GTX580 using DX11. If you need a reason to buy a PC... this is the time to make a change xD

except that a gtx 580 cost as much a 2 360 elites :lipsrsealed:
-
Pretty funking good  but I have better things to spend my month on
-
That's all very nice, but they're pictures and not gameplay. I've got an ATI Radeon HD 5770 which is DX11, it's a great card and I'm able to play all new games in the highest settings without any lag or other problems. Pictures always looks far more detailed than actual gameplay
-
There is never a question about what is better in graphics is there, PC will always beat it as they are infinitely upgradable.
Consoles are there for those of us that just want to sit down, have a laugh with a reasonable level of graphics with quick access to an online community.
PC's are time consuming, that's the bottom line.
-
and much more expensive
-
Gah, didn't post it for a PC v Consoles thread... all to their own.

Pictures are from Video caps.

No more time consuming then any other electronic device.

Fair enough then. Came across like that that's all.
Pictures do look awesome. The guy is a bit buck toothed though. Must be American.

Pc price to be able to do such graphics or price of console? Umm winning! lol i know what ya mean though i love pc games on the beast but for simple just switch on gaming cant beat a console!
-

As said pc may be better but some people cant afford £800 when you can get a xbox 360 and a game for £150
-
While I'm running around "poppin caps in asses", I dont have time to stop and admire the view.
Xbox 360 graphics are more than sufficient thank you.

For now :p

I've had my pc for around 10 years probably longer, just update bits and pieces when needed. Its been a lot cheaper than some mates who in that time have gone through 3 playstations, 2 xboxs, gamecube and wii :P
plus as a bonus I can play any of those consoles games bar ps3 and 360 on my pc through emulators, and if you know where to look its all free(without losing online gameplay abilities etc). How much have you lot spent on console games recently? :)
-
Lol console games can be free also? and ie only ever bought to xbox 360s But i know your point But you cant upgrading to the best if your saying its cheaper than consoles mate that i can assure you my graphic setup on my shuttle drive alone is £500
-
yeah thats true, but im my experience you dont need anywhere near the best equipment available to play new games on top settings. I bought my gfx card around 2 years ago, it wasn't anywhere near the best back then think it cost around 100 quid and is still capable now of playing everything I have on top settings
Also yeah console games can be free, but you run the risk of losing your warranty and also getting banned from online play :)

Well if ure gfx car is 2 yrs old i can assure you what your computer is outputting compared to the lastest is utter Gash mate plain and simple! the difference between graphics cards is epic whether it can handle it or not doesnt mean nothing! and you only get banned if your stupid!

That may be the case, but the graphics you can get from a 2 year old card are still leagues ahead of what any console is capable of producing (I know as my GTX 265 is still amazing me lol). I dont have a preference personally but I do know that I cant stand shootemups/anything where you have to direct a charicter on consoles (the control systems are not good enough using a pad for me) and that, without spending fortunes on an expensive steering wheel, consoles are better for driving games. My PC is by no means up to date but it still makes everything look much better than a current generation console will and it has the extra flexibility of letting me use CAD and all of the other tools I play around with, not to mention keeping me in the loop regarding the use of PC based software etc that can be used in the workplace. The bottom line for me is that some people just like consoles because they are easy to use and they will never fully utilise a PC so there is no reason for them to go that route, but for those of us who like to use our PC's more fully, both is a better strategy.

I wasnt comparing to console graphics!

Real PC gamers play point and click adventures. Monkey Island ftw!

I wasnt saying my card is still as good a new cards today, that would obviously be stupid. I'm saying it is still capable of playing new games on top settings.
And you cant tell me it isn't as it does it every day
-
Diddnt say it couldnt just said quality of graphics will still be diff from a newer card is what i meant
-
This argument is a no brainer.
Modern PCs will always have better GFX as theyre always updating hardware. Xbox hardware is 6 years old now. I doubt a PC built on 6 year old hardware (which cost, say £200 6 years ago) would play any modern game
-
Maybe I'm just awesome at building and setting up my pc's then

Quite partial to a bit of broken sword personally.

My 2003 PC plays modern games still, it does however run with twin Geforce cards and have 8gb of paired corsair ram.......
My new PC cost me £380 with 21" HD screen, I have added an ATI card (£150) and overclocked the Quad processor.
I play graphic heavy online games at full speed with no issues, Consoles are best for gay point and shoot games like COD, hence I dont play them real man me......
