got a quote for 2 cars today, 2000 to pay in full, 3200 to pay monthly? bit of a difference..?

Insurance is mental on 4x4s now, my warrior was regrouped to 19 this year
Last year - £750 for the year business and sdp use upto 40,000 miles
This year - £1900 for the year an they will no longer cover me for business use!
Laughed a bit in shock before telling them what they can do with their renewal!
-
i received my renewal in post today. My current insurer (zurich) gave me quote of £987.77
the cheapest quote I got is £805 from esure, 10 years NCB, protected, fully comprehensive. I asked zurich if they will do price match and they said NO
I'm with them for last 2 years and I feel there are not concerned for keeping their existing customers.
f***ing tw@ts, i told them to shove it up and send me my no claims certificate
-
that is unreal ive been lucky im 22 only have 2 years ncb and 3 points and im only £516 for the full year for my golf makes no sense how someone with 5x my ncb is double the price
-
Just to give you guys heads up here , managed to get a quote £402 10yrs no claims with Directline , got to be better than 748 or 1200 quid piss takers
-
i`m with direct line for the ed30 and passat wagon, can`t remember what the cost of each policy is but have always been a good price and have always recieved a good service

this seems to be a common thing come renewal, mine doubled so went to their sister company and it was reduced even with a crash...

Yep found it cheaper elsewhere, just makes you wonder, considering the cost of my insurance you would think they would want me to stay with them and actually give me a reasonably competitive price, like they did last year.
Instead they wack it up £600 a hope I wont notice, knob heads.

Its been going like this for years for me. Been driving for 7years and never kept the same insurance company.
Same with house insurance.

I frigging hate the adverts but have you tried these insurance comparison websites?
They saved me a few quid. Maybe worth a try.

i work for an insurance company and tbh the renewal are always double better off (as crazy as it is) to canx and start a new one, get new customer discount etc etc
new customer get better deals than loyal ones! go figure or as most do . . . .go compare
-
I have a broker who charges £30 and does all the leg work for me, well worth it as when my insurance is due they simply send me a letter with a massive list of prices and highlight the best one
-
I usually go through the comparison lists on here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/insurance/compare-cheap-car-insurance
What normally happens is I get sh1te quotes on the comparison sites or they're not as good as they first looked when you click them, then I get inundated for a couple of days from Brokers who will then discount further from the price on the comparison site. Bit of a pain in the @rse but it's worked quite well for the last couple of years. The phone calls stop after your renewal date has passed so just stay with it. It's worth answering the calls though as some can do it cheaper and if they don't you just start the call with unless you can beat XXX don't bother carrying on with the call.
Having said that, I'm going to give serious consideration to Directline this year due to the fact that they will pay out if an uninsured driver hits you as this seems quite common these days.

Good point there Gibby about the uninsured drivers, on that basis alone got to be worth a shout

Well heres my insurance rant. I rang to put in a claim on house insurance last year, drain collapsed and there company put in an invoice of 950, neighbour was payin half so we decided to get it done ourselves and told insurance company we're payin ourselves so cancel claim. But renewal time conescomes and im told because a company put in an invoice for 950 then its classed as a claim, even tho no money was paid out, and ive lost my 5 years no claims! Sheer madness!
Still managed to get a much cheaper renewal tho
