Title: Sunroof owners a question.
Post by: Snoopy on 15 June 2011, 18:03
The blind rattles when slid back when the roofs on full tilt or wound back but it only happens on some bumps.

I took alook the other week and again tonight and it seems that theres some foam spacers on the rear wind deflector when the roofs fully tilted.
I am more or less sure there was more the other week when i looked.
One of them is hangling off now too and im sure it will disapear if i slide the roof back rather than tilt.

If someone could please have a look at theirs it would be much apreciated.
If you tilt the sunroof to its max setting.
Slide the blind back
kneel on the drivers seat facing the rear of the car, with your head on the glass sunroof
While Looking towards the rear of the car between the sunroof blind and the rear wind deflector theres 2 foam blocks on mine i thought there was more before.
I think these blocks are what stops the blind and wind deflector rattling. One of mine the further back one is partly unstuck and the other looks worn.

Could someone have a look at theirs and see if it is the same please.

Snoopy, took a look at mine.

With the roof tilted, there are only two foam pads of equidistance on mine. On the plastic piece above, (Best way I can describe it.) there is also another foam pad in the centre.

I did raise a rattling noise I was having, with my dealer and they wanted to strip the roof lining off to have a look, as they suspected it was the sunroof. I decided against it as I didn’t want them damaging it. Later I found the noise was coming from my sun visor as it wasn’t clipped in properly.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.
Im guessing from what your saying is.
The one in the middle of the photo is the same as yours.
The one on the left of the photo is the same as yours.
BUT yours also has one on the right in the same sort of location as the one on the left in my photo but on the other side? (In other words mines lost the one on the right of the photo).

The sunvisor ones ive had before, on mine the clips were loose. The blind on my sunroof if its not pushed back or is half way open it is fine its just if its pushed back.
