mate of mine was hit by an uninsured driver... what can be done about it??
he has his phone number
car reg / make + model
thats about it really :undecided:
-
Does his insurance cover him specifically against uninsured drivers? As some policies do.
-
Phone call to the old bill needs to be first job too, insurance may need crime reference number etc etc
-
hes just not sure if his company does... will it increase his premium??
-
This happened to my wife, MIB will pay for the repairs and peruse the uninsured driver, you can also get most of the damages too
Call some no fee claims companies for confirmation

also MIB will take the fookin piss paying out btw :lipsrsealed:

Possibly even sue him directly for damages through the courts. Just because he isn't insured, doesn't mean he can't sue the c@nt.

As I read that in my head I genuinely translated that to Men In Black :D
As said, get the police involved. These cvnts need taking off the road

What car was it? Burn it out.

he was in a c class mercedes. the uninsured driver was in a clio. he was parked up... clio driver coming in opposite direction did a u-turn and clipped his rear bumper.

MIB does work, I used them about 7 yaers ago when I was hit by an unregistered car. However I had to do ALL of the legwork as even the police were useless. I found out the last registered person to own the vehicle, where it was scrapped after a previous accident, I told the police who then bought the vehicle and hey ho they were the culprits. CPS decided that there was not enough evidence to prosecute to I then took out a case with the MIB.
All in all it took about a year from the accident occurring to getting any money back, they will also take a fee (was £300 then) for instance if they award you £1000 compo then you will only get a cheque for £700. But still, better than claiming on your insurance!
Also have a word in the insurance section if you haven't already!
Good luck!!!
