MK3 16v and I need an exhaust.
I like the quality reputation of the milltek but I much prefer the tailpipe of the Scorpion Boxer.
I want a good burble, and sweet note but not a chav sound where it's like the mating call of the SR Nova!
Has anyone heard either system, or better still, got either system?????
I have to order tomorrow and they're the same price! I'll be mail ordering them so can't afford to get a system that sucks or doesn't fit right.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help me out here guys, I'm torn between the two and I have never seen either one in the flesh.
Thanks folks!

i have a friend who's a milltek dealer and they are awesome exhausts. fitment is just like factory and they don't sound too loud or lairy. but you are limited on tailpipe options. thats my opinion!!! don't know much about scorpion though..........
-
Yeah - it's John at Awesome I'm talking to about the Milltek. I'm not mad about their tailpipes either - that's the tihing. I don't want to spend the next load of years looking at it and saying "I wish I'd got the Scorpion, it looks better"!!!! But if the Milltek sounds good and looks at least OK.....
The options in the Milltek are stealth - an oval thingy like the corrado OE pipe, or twin Jet, 2 straight cut rounds. Whereas the Scorpion looks like your photo in your sig gtijoe...very sweet on a MKIII

I think I've reached a decision after talking to a lot of people...
...and it's that I want the Scorpion for looks and that bit of rough in the sound dept. I'm sure I'll fetch some flak, but a mate had a Scorpion on his Saab turbo (big power modded) for 8 years and it was sweet, and another mate had them on clios, and e36 bimmer coupe and more, and never had a single complaint - and he's a fussy 'stard too.
I've NO doubt that the Milltek is a good system, and I will not knock it. It's just that many people say it's barely louder than std (I want a bit more than that) and the main thing is that the one peice you see - the pipe - looks pants on the Milltek to my eye.
I'd spend days looking at it and wondering if my local powerflow guy could chop it off and weld on a boxer type letterbox pipe. And that buggers my warranty.
So it looks like Scorpion for me, for good or bad. Thanks to all for their opinions, but I have have that tailpipe, with or without loudness.
Next week it'll be on and I'll let you know what I think.

I've ordered my exhaust.
A mate in the trade came up with a killer price on a jetex ss system, a "high performance" one, means no front silencer, just straight pipe, then centre box then rear box. It has the same pipe trim as the scorpion and is a lot cheaper.
To put it into perspective, www.motorsportworld.co.uk shows the system for £250ish inc vat, whichis a good price, but it's not where mine's coming from.
I'll get it nexxt week and post up to tell you how it is. I'm expecting it to be a snorter.
RAAAAR!

hey thats good news, i knew a guy who had a jetex on his vr6 and it was cool. the milltek can be a bit quiet and i think your right about not wanting to regret the wrong tailpipe choice. mine's a speedtech but will be a mish mash of milltek and speedtech by the time evreythings done!!!
-
just how quiet are milltek? Ideally i'd like an exhaust thats barely audible inside the car until around 3500 revs.

i have a milltek on my vr6 corrado with a K & N induction kit, just a standard oval tailpipe. Start the car and on tickover it sounds standard, if you dont rag it you hardly hear a rumble in the car and can easily out blast the sound with the stereo, honestly when you do put your foot down over 3000 it sounds awesome you wouldn't think it was a vw not far from matching the noise of a true v8. On motorways it booms but it is no way an overpowering noise.

I see Joe is pimping in the superior mk3 section now, anything for posts hey lol
Glad you found the exhaust you want mate

Jetex has arrived!
There were a few dents in it though....but not a problem.
Got it fitted and I must say it is very well made and comes with everything. Fits a treat.
Tailpipe looks killer and it's very quet at the moment, just a nice slightly deeper tone than before. It'll take a few weeks for it to bed in and get deeper, but there's no rasp at all which is a good sign, and just shows how good these systems are - only 2 boxes and they are 2.5 inch bore, like the pipes, and there is not any nasty noise.
I'll photo itand get it posted soon but thumbs up so far!
The K&N 57i kit had been getting to be a bitof a pain - all induction noise, but now it's nicely balanced with a bit of zorst!
