I'm in the mood to watch a nice film with some popcorn. I watched the guardian last night, so I am now born bred and water fed HOORAH!
I feel like watching either saving private ryan or a police/swat movie kind of like bad boys or point break. Anyone fancy suggesting any ideas? I also wouldn't mind something like unstoppable or shooter

Independence Day. Its awesome.

I've seen that film a million billion times and although it's awesome I feel like watching something a bit newer (with the exception of saving private ryan). I may leave independence day for tomorrow night

Any of them, they're all epic. I have to say the original UK voice over release is my fave but that's probably because that's the version I grew up with on VHS.

You might enjoy London Boulevard then..
Quite a good british gangster film..
-
Yeah saw that at the cinema, was good, shame it was out at the same time as The Kings Speech an the Fighter, reckon it wouldve done a lot better if it was delayed slightly
-
Tracker - is very good, best thing Ray Winston has done in a long, long time.
Girl with a Dragon Tattoo - the sequels are as good though
Let the right one in - Original is great and oddly so is the US remake (let me in)
Invictus
Beneath Hill 60 - Aussie WW1 film in the trenches/mines very good
Kite Runner
I Love You Phillip Morris - Was much better than I expected, what makes it more remarkable is that its based on a true story.
-
Shooter, cracking film

Where The Wild Things Are
-
Children of men

-
Didn't realise everyone on here had such good taste in films...
-
Martyrs - truly disturbing yet satisfying watching.
-
in bruges is awesome
children of men is also awesome but wore me out - only film i've been glued to the whole time.
-
Parts of Children of Men were filmed close to my house. Amazing film. There's a few REALLY long one camera shots which must have been an absolute nightmare to get right, think the scenes in question won awards though, so well worth it.
-
Sorry but Children of Men is nothing more than an ITV movie, Clive Owen has more wood grain than Keanu Reeves.
-
One of the best comedies i seen is dale and tucker vs evil so far this year..
Well worth a watch..

On the topic of movies, can anyone recommend some good martial arts movies? I've seen some of the classics like Drunken Master and some modern ones like Hero, Ong Bak and House of Flying Daggers. A movie with some kind of plot would help
If anyone hasn't seen Hero it's well worth checking out. Seriously well crafted shots throughout and the plot is damn good for a martial arts movie. The fights are stunning. Some might not be as intense as other movies but WOW are the beautifully shot
-
Unleashed.
-
Kung Fu Hustle is fun
-
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
Enter The Dragon

Operation condor is a good old Jackie Chan one.
More modern ones... Warrior King/The Protector is a good one.
Fearless is also quite good.
But as already stated, unleashed and Kung Fu hustle FTW.
-
I've seen most of the ones mentioned except Unleashed and Kung Fu Hustle so I'll try and get a copy of those. Thanks folks
-
Unleashed is pretty good, Jet Li basically plays a mussled dog. Ha
If like your kung-fu movies to be serious, epic and meaningfully then kung fu hustle is the one...

I watched and enjoyed 'Ip-man' and '7 swords' quite recently.
-
Totally agree on the comments on 'Taken', very good movie.
-
Just watched Gran Torino. All I have to say is what a film! Bravo.
Roll on tomorrow to see another film!
-
Watched The Way Back the other night, very good and definitely one to watch.
-
Thought the way back was a bit meh to be honest. Shot in some beautiful locations, end was nice but the rest was forgettable IMHO.
-
