Title: What the hell are these BBS wheels??
Post by: Sam on 13 June 2011, 19:10
Right, I know we aren't to keen on here on 'whats it worth' threads as most of the time its how long is a piece of string and look on various websites but I have some rare bbs wheels. In fact I cant find another set for sale anywhere other than in texas for $1k.

They are BBS CH's in 100x4 7.5 and most importantly 16". So... anyone have any ideas? They could do with a re-spray but would definitely simply touch up and the center caps would need new bbs stickers whilst you were at it. SO, any ideas??

I didn't know you could get 4x100 16" BBS CH to be honest. Worth a punt at 5-600 I suppose as they'd probably be over a grand new.

You sure they're CH's, cos they were never made in 16's?

Might be worth joining the Wheel Whores forum and throwing up some pictures of the wheels and the branding marks. Lots of people on there who would know. Plus they will probably give you scene tax prices

They stamped as CH's on the reverse? What did the seller list them as?
Title: Re: Price for a set of BBS
Post by: Sam on 14 June 2011, 23:42
When I bought the car they were listed as BBS CH's and in the magazine article on the car back in the day they are simply BBS's. The numbers give nothing away unless people can interpret this...

They look remarkably like TSW hockenheim R's or a copy of. Definately not an aftermarket BBS design but maybe manufactured by them for TSW?

Just emailed rimstyle, the 'UKs BBS dealer' to which they responded 'I am unsure which wheel this is, we only deal with the aftermarket sector of BBS wheels found on Rimstyle.com but I can confirm that they are not BBS CH.'

Brilliant, cheers lads

Don't forget to put the word "NOT" in the listing such as "not 5x100"  Because that's never annoying is it?

Isn't that pretty damn helpful though? Not CH and not aftermarket wheels. Better than you have done so far

Not really, It was confirmed on my very first post that they were not CH's and i'm not suprised that rimstyle don't sell them...

I emailed him back anyhow asking him to forward my email to some bbs contacts he may have as a favour... the response was 'Unfortunately not, sorry'

Search "Moda sport wheels" and you find a few ads on bmw forums, around $400 seems average from the couple i've looked at
