Hi all
Am a new member so this is my first post... I'm thinking about taking the rear wiper off my Mk4 for the much cleaner smoother look but need help finding a solution for the hole that will be left once the wiper has been deleated... Any suggestions will be very muched welcomed.

Mate it's not a rubber grommet it's a peace of glass and it's a kit it comes with the glue and all that. The thing with the rubber grommets is that there not a perfect seal and they leak and muck up the boot lock( well that's wot happend to a mate of mine)

Fair point.. I'd hate to apply this and end up with a leaking hole in my rear window! £15 does not sound bad at all after thinking about this now.

yep a lil silicon will help

Rubber grommet from halfords, cheap as chips, bit of silicone on the inside, sorted. Had mine in for over a year and not 1 slight sign of damp or leaking :)

Well £15 for a piece of tiny glass is just ridiculous IMO, i used a £1.70 grommet and some silicone, no leaks, no holes etc, its a perfect fit , and with reference to what its like on a wet day,, well you cant see much, but i just use the wing mirrors!!
I would much rather have the clean look on the back than a wiper blade, and its comign up to summer so only thing to worry about hopefully is dust on the back screen!

I cant understand getting rid of the rear wiper, the rear of a mk 4 is the worst design car for collecting dirt on the back end.

You have side mirrors don't you.
Besides, if the rear screen gets dirty, clean it.
I made a plug out of 3mm perspex, 3ish quid from ebay, a dremel and black sealant. Looks great imo.
