Hi folks, I am in the process of purchasing a Mk2 GTI. The guy I am purchasing off has told me the MFA LCD display is leaking slightly into screen display. Is the LCD display replaceable and if yes how big a job is it?
Cheers Richie

You need a set of replacement clocks - whole unit.

i have a spare set of clocks from a 16v gti if you're interested, as i changed them for the 8v ones as mine is an 8v.

The LCD screen isnt replacable as far as I am aware, I would try get some new clocks or if your not too fussed you could get an oil temp VDO gauge and just live with it.

Yes it is... I did mine...

That's really handy !!
But I found on my single plug clocks it's all abit different IE how the rev counter comes out ,
Where as on that setup it's just the screw from behind ..

Yeah they are different but the basics are the same...

Of course you need spare clocks to do the swap so unless you have good reason might be better just to replace the whole unit.
