I have a problem with my paint I swear.
Everytime I wash my car then rins or even if I go to a jet wash its the same
After I rins by the time I get the chamy leather out water is dring in spots to the paint and no amount of chamying gets them off.
Its doin my head in.
I no black is a b!tch to keep clean but this is stupid.

You live in a hard water area?
I get some water marks but usually come out with the chamois leather.
Rub harder
-
Try using a detailer to dry it off with also microfiber is much better
-
Yes it a hard water area.
I wash using a micro fibre glove then I rins with clean water but before I get a chance to chamy it drys on even if I rince then chamy strait away I just can't get them off no matter how hard I rub them.
What's a detailer?

Use a Spray wax like megs or Chemical guys detailer or even Demon shine which is very cheap in Asda £5

I have used loads of diferant car wash and car wash and wax,s. I use a micro fibre glove to wash the car.
Then I rins with clean water.
Them I chamy it.
But in the time between rins and chamy the water drys on hard and can never got the water marks off.
I start chamying one bit and have to rush to get it all wile its wet but I never make it in time.
On a hot sunny day its like a race against time lol.

My god do not rub hard with a chamois leather  You'll scratch the paint work. Dry your car off with a microfibre drying towel then use a detailing spray, I like to use Meguairs ulimate detailing spray and a microfibre. Spray it on and work it over the area with the microfibre, then with a dry microfibre buff the area to leave a shiny non water marked area
Also its best not to wash your car in the sun. I normally wait til its going down or do it early in the morning.

Ok great cheers when I save up enuf cash to buy the migures stuff I'll try it. Have tried deman shine and still leaves water marks makes no diferance.
So I use a micro fibre cloth to take water off like a chamy?
That can't work as good as a chamy to get the water off tho can it?
-
Chamys are totally useless lmao.. A microfiche towel (big one) can dry a whole car without needed to be rung out a chamy can't do that.. Plus a chamy scratchs like he'll and is terrible for the paint a microfibre isn't..

You really need to wash your car in the shade or like I do, as the sun's going down
The drying towel will make a massive difference too

Yep, lose the chamois. Nothing to do with your problem, they're just rubbish.
You like me obviously have hard water - mine is an absolute swine to rinse. You can get all manor of filters and stuff to remove the lime from the water but none of them are particularly cheap or usable with low pressure hoses.
The likes of Demon Shine (you're effectively using it as drying aid) do help but note, there is more than one type of Demon Shine and you'll find varying degrees of success. The one you buy in a spray bottle isn't as effective as the stuff which comes in the small jugs (I prefer larger ones though, sorry!).
Best option is to wash out of direct sunlight, dry with a proper drying towel and once you have a good protection coat (wax etc) by using a trickle from a hose or a watering can to sheet the water off, you will end up with far less spots. The spray from a jet wash/squirty hose will make the problem worse but by "chasing" the water from the paint, you will end up with less remaing on there and therefore less to dry out in the first place.
If you still end up with the odd spot, use a spray quick detailer (there are products you can use as both quick detailers and drying aids) and a good micro fibre and you'll be good to go. The better your polishing/sealing/waxing etc, the easier they'll come off.
Pain in the bum though mate, I feel your pain!

Think we use the same hard water!
Even though i prep the paint, add a wax i still get water marks. Quick detailers dont seem to help.
I think the key is to wash and dry out of sunlight as said above.

I live in a hard water area too and used to get this problem when using auto glym shampoo conditioner, i don't think it rinsed off very well so if i wasn't super quick drying the car i'd get little white spots/runs.
I've since used Meguirs NXT shampoo (purple one) gold class and now using dodo juice supernatural and haven't had the issue with them at all, i'd steer clear of wash-wax type shampoo's with black paint mate, get a shampoo and a wax and see how you get on and +1 on doing it out of direct sun.

So can I buy these products from most car shops or are they only bought online.
Would a clay bar work?
I used to use miguers clay bar on my old calibra and it was great.
But then again it was silver not black.

you could use one of those window squeegy type things for cars to get most of the water off, then chamoix afterwards?

use a microfibre cloth with some Autoglym instant show shine, its in a can with an orange label and is under a tenner, spray it onto the water marks and bingo.
plus it makes the car look like its waxed!
