Found it unplugged behind the fuse box whilst trying to fix my windows...presume its for an extra that i dont have

Not airbag I don't think becuase they are yellow.

Is yours a 3 door? IIRC that was for the rear window switches.

5 door lads....no faults on vag com as far as i know

first i am from germany and my english not so good.

this connector is for headlight range adjustment.

in german "Leuchtweitenregulierung"

yes its the headlight up and down adjustment
