Made a phone call to my local dealers yesterday to see if there was any recalls on my car, I told them that it's been running rough and missing occasionally. So they booked me in and I took if there today.
Half hour later it was ready and they'd replaced all 4 coilpacks for free!!
Now for a remap
-
Jammy sod.......But a good result....

Mine is in next Thursday, I am hoping for 4 new ones.

Ditto!
Bought car last week, rang dealers Monday, Took it tuesday and had it back by 1pm the same day :-)
Not bad for a 10 year old car with 100k on the clock
Cheers VW!!!

They never said yes straight away, they asked if there was any faults, so I said that it keeps misfiring, that's when they said yes there is a coil pack recall.

No wonder the price of new VW's is so extortionate - they got to pay for replacing all these crappy coilpacks

What about the crappy wiring to the coilpacks. Mine is shot, not much point putting in new coilpacks if the wiring is no good??
-
Got my car in today, only replaced 2 as they said the other 2 were the right part number
still got the frickin problem though, but no error codes coming up though
Guessing its the MAF for sure now though
-
I rung VW up about this yesterday, mine aint eligible

have you tried the ignition amp coil mounted and bolted on to the back of the air box. a possible...
spark plugs last done..
best thing you can do regarding a maf, if you have any mate with a 1.8t swop it over. from my experiernce with a quick swop over it never turned out to ever be the mas. silly things like spark plugs..
-
When my car needed new coil packs a while ago, I didn't know they were doing recalls, so I went and bought some from TPS, but through the garage I use to use

I'm guessing it can't be the ignition amp coil as its running an induction kit with the cone down near the front vents(is too much air being pushed in a possibility ???)
And it's just had a service so can't see it being the spark plugs :undecided:

too much air being pushed in would not make your car miss fire.
if you fitted your induction kit you would have needed to relocate the ignition amp which bolts onto the air box. it is possible if it has been hanging and subject to heat that you may have a problem as it's designed to be in a colder location of the engine bay. It could be the instrument itself.
-
I didn't fit it, the induction kit was fitted by the previous owner(billyvw) not sure where it is, gonna have to have a look when it stops pissin down
