Title: Classic Insurance for a modified car
Post by: bluestreak56 on 10 June 2011, 08:36
Hi all,

Just wondered if anyone had had any experience with getting classic insurance on a somewhat heavily modified car (like my for an example).

Mine will be 20 next August and I'm looking to get a car as a main to replace the BMW. However I dont want to have to pay £700 insurance for a Polo Gti and £700 insurance for the rocco..

The BMW only costs me £185 at the moment on classic with the rocco as the main...

So ideally I'd be looking for that sort of set up again.

Anybody in this situation?

Cheers,

Modifications are accepted but you'll probably need a written valuation to get the agreed value of what you think the car is worth, otherwise you'll just get book price if the Rocco goes awol.

Best ring around, I'm with a different one most years as they all alter their premiums each year.  I've been with:
Lancaster
Aon
Hagerty
Sureterm
Adrian Flux
RH Classic
