Looking for new brake pads but not sure if they are 280 or 288.? whats the diffrence between them apart from 8mm! its a mk3 gti agg 96? also any recomendations?

apart from the 8mm, calipers, pads and Discs. so not much........ :rolleyes:
To find out size meassure from top to bottom of disc.

Your car will have 288mm being a AGG 96.
Quick check, if you have a anti-rattle spring on the front of the caliper then its 288mm.

In simple terms if you got a metal clip thing on the caliper u should see it as soon as you take the wheel off it is 288

yep its 288 cheers guys. next is what pads would anyone recomend? looked at EBC Green stuff and Black diamond predator pads

Mintex 1144 are a good choice.

Dont go by word of mouth, check yourself!
Made that mistake and had to send the pads back!
Mine were 288mm and its a 96 but EBC sent me the pads for 280's :(

Yep, much better than Green Stuff. I've never understood what so many people rave about them? :undecided:
