Anyone else using it?
The gains are awesome and cheap to run just on de- ironised water. No one actually writing a map for water injection for the 1.8t me7.5 so se set to work on it today. The water injection allowed to run much more ignition advance across the whole rpm range and to run much leaner fuel air ratio mix and still be safe. Plus the option of running on happy shopper 95ron fuel and get the same results as v-power or even 102 race fuel when added with meths. I will be posting the results up next week after a bit of play time. With the same setup we managed 508bhp from an astra turbo at 1.7bar 13.2:1 fuel 26 advance.

Hi mate, nice to see you on here :-)
I've got a DevilsOwn Kit, which i had fitted to the diesel, and gave me some GREAT results!
What kind of extra power do you think we could see on the 1.8t?
-
Hi I bought a aquamist water meth injection to use on my build but was just wondering where the best place to inject it in. Is it best just after the intercooler in the pipe or have read that it can be injected straight in to the inlet manifold. Can it be done on a standard manifold or do you have to use one of the high flow jobies?
-
a few of the diesel guys run it on uk-mkiv's as i was looking when i had my Leon.. they reported no differences at all and promptly removed.. maybe this is different on the petrols.. i know a lot of high horsepower cars love them.. but how much would ti cost to keep it topped up ??
-
Like RTechUK said you can just run it on water dont have to use meth all the time so shouldnt be very expensive to run, I guess the gains would be better with meth mix tho. Im aiming for around the 350bhp mark so hopefully it will mark alot of difference!
-
Isnt/Doesnt screen wash contain methanol.??
-
It does and other stuff so putting that through your engine may not be great. Im gonna use my screen wash bottle so a mix of water/meth in there will clean my screen as well!
-
seen this done a few years back on the diesels and its suppose to be great results
-
I looked into making my own a few years ago, not as hard as you think
-
get making wes lol
-
Interesting stuff Nick, Not had experience with this yet
-
My DevilsOwn kit will be up for sale in the next half hour by the way! :-)
-
RTechUK any more results?? and do you know the answers to my question pls?? Cheers
-
Did anyone get any good results with the water injection? My car had it but it's been taken off when it was sold. Maybe have it fitted again???
-
Basically simple answer is WMI is the one if if not THE best mod!
If you follow Nikis work and do some research WMI unleashes more power yet makes the engine run safer temps and put less strain on parts.
It next on my list and I can't wait to get it installed!
-
Been looking at this
Im not sure on running it from the washer bottle rather have a seprate bottle for it. As i use the washers alot. I have noticed that there is 2 stages for the devilsown kit. Whats the difference and who sells the cheapest kit?
-
Yeah I'm gonna have a separate tank in the back.
There is the base kit which uses a adjustable 6-30 psi boost switch so you can adjust when it starts to inject meth.
And the expensive kits use a progressive controller with your map sensor to adjust how much meth is injected as your boost increases etc
BUT although the controllers are good, apparently with all the companies the controllers are known to either fail or just be a general nightmare. So for simplicity and reliability your better with just getting a devils own base kit
-
excuse the noob question, but what is it exactly? :undecided:
-
You inject a mixture of deionised water and methanol I to your intake just after your intercooler.
The water cools your intake temps (a lot) and the methanol increases the octane of your fuel (pretty much) so you have a bugger bang with cooler cylinder abd exhaust temps which allows you to map in more timing etc and create more Power without it running too hot or creating knock.
Read up on it here

I'm going to call R-tec see what they say they can do for mine. I'm running 227 break at the min with APR maps but the car was running 250 till the last owner took it all off. Want to find out the costs of getting it to 300. Then the air ride in spring will finish it off nicely,
-
Cheapest way to get 300bhp is to get a beach buggy turbos k300 and supporting mods.
I say "cheapest" the turbo will still cost £750 to be hybridised!
Depending what current mods you have your talking £2k - £4k to get 300bhp
-
I can imagine the costs to get 300 could run away. The cars mint and runs perfect so worth keeping and a lot of thought needs putting into more mods, it's got a few mods already, r32 clutch, miltek, stage 2 inlet and so on. Will take it too them and see what they say. Worth getting idea of costs and performance increase.

do you have a 6speed box :undecided:
-
No 5 speed on mine.

I know what your thinking Barry he must mean a vr6 clutch
-
Thx for the info :)
-
WMI is still on my list of things to add to the car

No worries dude
WMI is still on my list of things to add to the car
