Title: silicone hoses
Post by: jockgti on 08 June 2011, 22:11
hi,i recently purchased a five piece set of hoses   http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-GOLF-MK4-1-8T-20V-SILICONE-5-PIECE-BOOST-KIT-AUM-AUQ-/150605986778?_trksid=p3286.m7&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26itu%3DUCI%26otn%3D3%26po%3DLVI%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D223856489643383819#ht_2093wt_1139
now the guy that was going to fit them has just brought my car back and said they don't fit,the tip i bought as well he said is wrong

now i've never changed hoses before so i have no idea about this kinda thing but are they supposed to be cut to the desired size or should they all fit fine straight out of the box?

my engine code aum and its a 51 plate 1.8t 20v

cheers

There is a slight difference in size of the intakes of turbos for the AGU(K03) and AUM(K03s) so there are different TIPs

just had a reply from creation they say there's some metal bit on the turbo that's supposed to come off for the tip to fit properly,i've forwarded the email to mechanic to sort out tomorrow

Correct you undo the allen bolt on the bit attatched to the turbo and it pulls off then the tip goes directly onto the turbo with a clamp - no more restrictive metal bend!!!
