Well running the mini is proving more expensive than i thought to run (more than my 1.8T !!) so really fancy moving back to a Diesel again..
The only requirements are i want nothing bigger than a 2.0.. Must be hatchback.. Not to worried about mileage (but dont want galactic)..
Any suggestions ??
So far i have
A3
Seat Leon
Golf GT TDI
-
Octavia? I quite like the A4's as well.

I want hatchbacks preferably lol

Octavia is a hatchback
-
Ok well its too saloon looking for me..

^^
I'd go for an Octavia, A3 or the Leon. Maybe a Golf5 GT 170 if you can find one for £6k Nice car, nice drive, very comfy, decent MPGz and a Hatchback.

Jay i was looking at the mk5 but wonder if you can help.. whats the difference between GTTDI and the GT sport TDI ??
Thanks

I think* the GT Sport (TDI) is the 170bhp and the GT (TDI) is the 140?
*My thinking is never always correct and sometimes/most times based on assumptions... we all know what the mother of all f@ck's is...

Cheers Jay.. I prefer the 140 anyway.. remap to 170 is more than enough for me at the moment.. Have just been looking and texted and emailed a few just awaiting replies.. also emailed a guy about his A3 who is talking to his brother and getting back to me..
All suggestions welcome people

Fabia vrs is a nice car and pretty nippy

I used to have a MK5 GT TDI 140. Great car. Very punchy and a great motorway car. The 170 is just a remaped 140 with a twin exhaust pipe.

Saab 9-3

get the golf as you can get a PD140 GT TDI for your money. Keep an eye out for a good spec one, they are uncommon but they are out there.
The 2.0 is a fair bit more refined than the 1.9 (I own both) as I am told it has an extra balancing shaft.

Youve had a leon cupra tdi already havent you, so id say what most are and mk5 gt tdi! although abit above your budget, my sister just bought a 56 plate mk5 gt tdi 140, FSH silver 3 door, for 8k

I'm not sure on remap for the moment as it's done high mileage and no evidence of a turbo change.. Also I have no idea on clutch life on a dsg box.. Both expensive if go wrong lol.. I just wana sort bodywork and interior out first and get it running sweet before engine mods..
