Title: Electric Window Getting Stuck
Post by: stow1985 on 06 June 2011, 20:18
Hi all,

as said in the title, the window goes down fine, with a bit of a bang  but when going up it gets stuck...

ive taken the door card off and had a investigation but i cant see anything obvious, only thing im thinking is the plastic clamps that hold the glass in place are very brittle and appear to have bits of plastic missing off them but i really dont know... :undecided:

any help would be great thanks

My passanger side does that mate. On mine its the clamp where it holds the cable. Same as yours, the plastic has become brittle, and slips down the cable when raising the window up. I have bodged mine for the time being by using some 30 amp fuse wire just to hold it in place. Its a bit crude, and it still struggles a little sometimes but it manages to go up in the end. Will get around to replacing it when I can be bothered!

If you just wanna try a motor first I have one you can have for postage mate. Thats what I tried on mine first but it turned out to be fine.
Its for the passanger side and I think they are different from the drivers side (opposite way around obviously).
