Title: Its back......
Post by: Justins145bhpMK1 on 11 September 2003, 09:29

Yeah I fixed the missing bolt problem to my starter motor, 2 150mm bolts from B&Q and a bit of fiddling and it is sorted!!!! Just wait to see what else falls off next!

Glad you got it sorted. B&Q eh, I guess 'golfvr6' will agree that even B&Q will be better quality than GSF.  ;)

Yeah who would have thought B&Q could help where all others failed!!

Now I can enjoy a months driving before the car goes into winter storage.

I was gonna suggest somewhere like homebase or b&q, they do have a surprisingly good selection of nuts and bolts  :D

When I changed my gearbox the speedo thread was different, It should be an M6 but it was like the thread was naff, The bolt that came out wouldn't go back in and I needed an M7.

Down to the local bolt suppliers, "no mate don't do M7 try peugeot down the road"

Yep got a couple of M7 bolts from peugeot. I suppose the cars are so weird they have odd sizes of bolts on them.

They still make pony cars though  ;)

Sorry to disagree but the missus got a 307 HDI .110 Bhp, sh*t loads of torque and more than 50 to the gallon. The argument for a diesel isn't getting any weaker. Mind you you are right that some bits feel off in the first few hundred miles, but I suspect thats the dealers more than the builders.
