Posting this on behalf of a friend. Basically he has no brake lights but the rear window one is working. Both bulbs are new, fuse is fine. Guessing the switch is ok if the window one is working.
Any ideas appreciated

Does the rear window light work on a separate circuit then? Had considered the switch but thought they would all be out if that went?

Don't think so but it does tend to be a sign that the switch has failed. You could try removing it and cleaning it up but for £10 its worth replacing

Cheers Rhyso, will give it a go.

Changed the switch with a genuine one today - brake lights still not working other than the boot window one.
Got power at the fusebox and switch but nothing at the brake light bulbs. Any more suggestions of things to check? Cheers!

Oops sorry mate
How do the contacts on the bulb holders themselves look?? Sometimes they can corrode :undecided:

Cracked it - turned out to be a dodgy connection after all on one of the holders.
Thanks for your help
