What did you think of STONOR PARK ? .
-
was good... although the weather could have been better!
-
Was a right mess-up with the judging of the Pride & Joy class, that's for sure! Was also annoyed that my previous just polished shiny car being covered in dust from the constant stream of cars exiting the show and non-stop light rain from mid-day onwards, so it ended up looking a right mess!

what was up with the judging? why were you not in mk2 class?

I thought the judging in some classes weren’t up to scratch. I did see that some judges were up to spec and backed by knowledge of the cars and respected within the industry, but other classes were just a joke... The weather didn’t help and the lack of advice that Henley was going to be one way and jammed up should have been advised by the idiot operating the pa system. The miss vw bit was nothing short of embarrassing and ended up being boring.
They should really chance the format, rid themselves of the compare and... Dj? Who played the same 6 songs most of the day, and I think I heard the 80 degree joke 8 times..
Live music with some local bands, better judging with more than one judge in all of the classes, a beer tent would of been attractive..! The day really dragged out..
On the flip side and non event organised there were some great cars there and the crowd were all great people.

Lots of complaints this year?
Strange!
-
well at least someone is putting something on right?? Its better than having nothing.
I feel that perhaps they have lost touch with what "some" people want..
-
I missed this year so cant really comment but its been a tried and tested formulae for a number of years and that old adage if it aint broke dont fix it!
-
I can see where Vex is coming from
The PA bloke was a trifle 'tired' imo... like being at some kind of school fete, I know he is popular with some but its not my cup of tea.
The music wasn't great at all... Bros?! I mean.. wtf!?
And I could see Henley becoming clogged... I left at 1pm and it took me about half an hour to get through the other side so god only knows what it took those leaving with the masses :(
I can't comment on the judging.. I didn't enter S&S.. the rain wouldn't have helped.
I am glad I left when I did to catch the last two races of the BTCC

Yes I know what you mean about the judging in my class there were only 3 cars the judge took about 3 mins to do each car but they are all volanters and had more than 1 class to do you sound like you know a thing or to why not put your name down to do some judging next year ? .

I arrived at 10am and the mk2 class was already full so I had to enter the pride and joy class which was a total mix of anything goes really altho the raylle that parked next to my mk2 was lurrrvly!!!! And basically stole all my thunder   the guy on the pa was very annoying indeed especially when he started going on about getting people's cars towed away and the weather was pretty miserable.
As for the judging I didn't stay around for it and left about 2:45pm as I had walked round about 9 times, had a german sausage and was getting a little bored of the rain and the dj,so who won the pride and joy section? as when I left there wasn't many people left to win! Except mr raylle!!.
the traffic through henley was horrendous! And the town had been shut and a diversion put in place by the time I got there and it took a very long time to get out of there, the diversion included having to go down a road with loads of speed bumps so there was vdubs scraping and grounding out all over the place including mine!!!!
Some very nice cars at the show tho and as always a good turn out and nice people

John who does the PA is a funny fella but can understand some peeps not liking his style.
The reason for all the clamping/moaning about parking is because the park have changed the H&S rules and were ebing very strict.
I think a lot of people forget that this show has been going for 20+ years and has traditionally been for the air heads who prefer a chilled out Fete approach rather than banging tunes and air ride. It's why I love the show. There are plenty of other shows that cater to the h2o crew like DC and Edition.
