New GTI's are the footwell lights LEDs?
The reason i ask is i think i spotted that as an option in VCDS yesterday :undecided:

You'll want to head over to the Audi forums (with their existing Ambient Interior LED Light packs)

Personally, why stop there, go all the way with a R8 boot light

Being sensible, I'm still trying to determine if you can simply get the lights and replace the current units. I can't find any concrete information, from
reading the German forums, the Passat LED ones work (no CANBUS warning) but are too long. The Audi ones look the correct size, but...

Great answer David25, I've got some LEDs in work and there is an option in VCDS to code the footlights to LED, I'll give it a whirl and report back

No problem.
Do you have the actual Audi light units? I'd like to know if they fit directly onto the existing connector OR do you need a convertor cable (repair cable) as documented in the R8 light conversion above?
Also, if it works but the light is RED, disconnect it quickly as it will overheat and reverse the connector.

Just looked at VCDS
Byte 25 bit 3 "Monitoring footwell lights inactive (LED footwell lights)"
Byte 20 bit 6 "Interior light dimming via body control module (BCM)"

Thanks for that, the LEDs I have are generic not audi

Interesting, I wonder if VW will be fitting the Audi style units soon.

I like to keep my footwell lights dim, that way you don't see the dirt on the matsl
With those LEDs I'd have to vacuum every day..

I took the lights out only to find that my generic LEDs won't be suitable for the job as they are not omnidirectional but instead focus their lih beam straight forward rendering them useless.
