Just changed the wiper linkage on my mates Bora. Could not get the plastic scuttle panel out! The car has had a new windscreen as some point in it life, like most cars. The scuttle has ended up being glued to the windscreen by an excessive amonut of glue! If anyone gets a screen changed then if well worth a look to make sure it doesnt happen to you. It made the job a right pain.

to look at this from another angle, mine isnt glued on, but i wish it was, a slight crack in the panel anywhere, can cause it to raise and allow rain water underneath between the windscreen and run onto the ecu, causing problems for that, exactly what im having
a mint condition scuttle panel, glued onto the screen is the best option for sure to seal it in
-
mines glued but its the original windscreen, people sometimes glue them cos water can get in behind it and into the ecu.
only found out cos i need to grease the wiper linkage, but now i cant get at it, regular wd40 spraying to keep it going
-
mine has various cracks on it from getting the ECU out and feeding the pipe through for the boost gauge
-
they are a biatch to get out lol
-
I can't get my scuttle panel off. thinking maybe it's glued? I've tried cleaning away the grime but still no joy. Any advice? If it is glued does that mean it'll never come off?
-
Im not sure they get glued on,i removed a mates bora one not long ago after he had given up trying, they are a mega tight fit but it will come away with enough force.
-
I took mine off to fit my boost gauge and cruise control, not only was it a bugger to get off, but i cracked my windscreen too  (before you ask, no, i wasn't using a screwdriver to pry it off)
-
Cracked mine too and I still can't budge it  I'm gonna have to give in and take it to the garage... and then get a new windscreen. (no I didn't use a screwdriver either).
-
well, i got mine off and back on without a single crack. You have to pull it as if you are trying to lift it out. Straight away from car, not upwards or downwards.

they usually come out pretty quickly once you get a corner going, even with silicon in there. just dont ever, ever try to lever something off the glass to pry it out!
