First post from me and really just a thank you to The Doc for his expert usage of the Vagcom unit to enable me to have the digital speedo in my GTI, get rid of the kph box and replace with a far more interesting and useful temperature gauge
Would thoroughly recommend any members in the north-west to contact Carbon Chip Tuning http://www.carbon-chiptuning.co.uk/ (http://www.carbon-chiptuning.co.uk/) if you have a mk6 and want this doing... or indeed any chipping as this is their business
The Doc would only take a donation from me for doing mine and we had a good chat about cars whilst I was there - top stuff!

Thank you for the £20 donation into the forum charity

In your clocks there is a display in the middle that shows Fuel comp, radio etc I changed some settings in the clocks so that a large MPH can be displayed in the fuel computer and also the small KMH can now be changed at will to outside temp.
Pics to follow when I get 5
-
i know its not the most hardcore of crimes but EU law says cars sold within the EU must display MPH and KPH..
but if you have changed your MFD you can change it back with ease.

You can change the temp back to KPH with a tick box in the MFD.

Does it not do this in your normal speedo clocks?? So why the fuss about it possibly not being legal??
And welcome to the 21st century - my Audi displays the digital speedo in MPH as STANDARD :smug:

My old Audi did too but that's because you have KPH and MPH on the analogue speedo, the GTI only has MPH.

Is it a DIY option? E.G. Could I buy a cable off ebay and perhaps have a go. I'm concerned I dont know what I'm doing and reset the computer in some strange way. How easy is it to do without buggering up my car?
Or can anyone help out in the London area?
