Title: losing clutch pedal!!!

i started my vr6 this morning and the clutch pedal was right on the floor, first i thought the clutch had gone but i can still use it but the pedal has minimal travel(about 10-15mm), which is a bit of a pain in the arse. If i lift the pedal back up to where it should be then it stays there for a bit before dropping back down again. Could this be the slave cylinder?

and again this evening, clutch dropped to floor as if it had gone, had to stop the car to get it into gear then drove home with no clutch only for it to reappear back in position when i pulled up. any ideas.
