Does anyone know the process to disable the headlight washer? Would just taking the fuse out work or would I need to remove a pump etc? Cheers

i just fitted a non headlight wasjer bumper.. left the jets there never had any problems lol
-
im guessing it just sprayed the back of the bumper with screen wash lol? Did you take out the fuse for it if there is one?
-
?????

nope literally just left it with no problems.. even if sprayed back of bumper no big deal lol.. i removed the bumper loads of times and didnt see no stains...
-
Oh ok fair enough, I think I'm gonna take the jets off completely just so I don't end up getting through 5L of washer fluid every week lol! Can't see it being a problem just taking the jets out and maybe the pump and fuse. If anyone has done this before I would appreciate any tips/advice :)

Mine doesnt have them?! :undecided:

If you are getting rid of the jets/pump, feel free to PM me as I could do with them!

Why would you want to get rid of them?

they are totally crap.. dont clean anything... cover the whole front of your car in screen wash.. imo useless..

If you have factory fitted xenons then to pass your MOT you require the headlamp washer system to be in place :nerd:

i dont get it though they are crap and totally worthless lol why do they make a car non road worthy ???

I just removed the cable on top of the pump on the front of washer bottle and no problems

He means if the car has factory Xenon lights then the headlight washers need to remain in use for the MOT. If the car has the winter pack and normal halagon headlights then you can disable the washers no problem.

Yeah mine had normal halogen bulbs, but iv now got 8000k HID's is that gonna be a problem lol? I do now have the jets and hoses for sale if your still interested AaronGS ?? As regards to deleting them, i just removed jets and the hose that runs along the front, then found a nice big bolt to wedge in the pipe that comes from the pump, a bit of sealant and job's a gooden :)

The problem you have is that you have fitted aftermarket HIDs into reflector headlights that were not designed for them.
By the absolute letter of the law, only factory HIDs should be allowed. They must have headlight washers (dirty lenses deflect the brighter light and could dazzle) and automatic headlight levelling with front and rear axle sensors (again to prevent dazzling when loaded or driving on an undulating road)
For the complete low down on HIDs see the July issue of PVW.
As for your washers, there is no problem with deleting them from your halogen headlights as your HIDs should not be there.
