I spend alot of time in Retail parks (work, not pleasure) and the last ones saved a few dinks......
Agree not as nice, but may stop the tin foil (sorry bodywork) from a trolley!

Edit: part no, 5KO O71 329 £111

Thanks, they are 4 door only :-(

Lucky escape I reckon, they look terrible! No point trying to protect the slight risk of damage by making them permanently ugly... a bit like leaving the plastic on the seats, putting clunky covers on your iPhone, etc

I am on your page Joel. Hate those revolting open rubber condoms on phones. What are those tasteless sods thinking?
Side mouldings are probably more revolting and permanently disfigure the whole car and protect fcuk all!
One of the reasons the Mk6 looks so much better than the Mk5. :smug:

The mouldings on my mk5 didn't stop some inconsiderate 4x4 owner from putting a nice ding in my nearside front door.
Agree, they are ugly, especially the VW retro-fit ones available for the mk6; they're not even colour-coded to the car. They only come in a textured black finish so have a low rent halfrauds look to them.
I certainly aren't having them on my mk6, if it ever gets built ; but that's another story!

VW do sell side door mouldings - i think it depends on your car colour as to whether or not they suit the car.
