Title: Mk2 seats in a MK1 Golf?

I've just had my beloved mk2 16v written off, and have been conveniently offered a mk1 GTI at a very reasonable price. I would consider buying my mk2 leather interior back from the insurer if it's possible to easily fit them in the mk1 - does anyone know whether this is viable?

front seats should just go straigh in not so sure about the rears tho cos of width etc, you might as well buy them back and find out if they dont fit then ebay 'em
