282bhp he reckons from a Milltek and just a re-map?
Hmmm
-
cheap that is
-
There 250 standard arn't they? So an extra 32 ponys for Miltek exhaust system and remap isn't asking to much is it?
-
241ish bhp standard

Indeed, with a turbo.
41bhp more from a none turbo engine with just an exhaust change ain't happening.

Fair enough then. Yeah I'm thinking of a 1.8t with just a remap.
-
be lucky to get 5-10 bhp without a turbo i fink someone is telling porkies
-
if i was buying it ide be wanting to see the rolling road print outs.
-
to be honest 6.5k is cheap for an R32 anyway, if its making that power or not wouldn't be by top concern.
servicing and bodywork condition first, exhaust is a bonus, also if its slightly more powerful than standard is another bonus.
-
Exhaust and remap will add a max of 7/8bhp if your lucky.
-
R32's have come down in price a wee bit recently, you can get a nice example for £7k with change it seems now, obviously no idea on condition without looking at them though. Lots of power, it's iconic and tax isn't all that bad to be honest. Future classic
-
Seems a good price, shame no interior shots, but yeh NA engine with exhaust and remap would not produce those figures! turbo or supercharger is the only way with those !
-
shouldnt we think in percentage of power figures rather that actual figures when you consider the engine is quite big in the R32. im not saying the gains from the exhaust and remap are not optimistic at all.. but how can you say an exhaust for example will add 5-10bhp when in my opinion a mod should add (or subtract  ) a "percentage" of power depending on the engines specs?.
maybe i`m dribbling rubbish, or do i have a point?.
-
One day I will run a MK4 R32, one day.
-
+1 Alan, good thing is theres plenty out there with less than 50k and in good condition, which in a few years will be within my price range!
Turbo it?!
-
Turbo it?!
Twin turbo
Then you can do this all day long

Price isnt a problem. Running it as a daily though . . . :(
TBH I could probably just about get away with it now, all depends on where the work is and how far away it is. Playing it safe with the MK5 for now.
-
Yeh thats a fair point, seeing 25 average on mine is bad enough, god knows what a R would do, Like i say maybe in a year or two!
-
25 average on a 1.8T? Ouch
(Must stop looking on Auto Trader)
-
Yeh to be honest you see these figures flying around 36, 40, 42, 25, but day to day driving and making it work a bit, your gna see mid twentys with a remap i think, R32 must be less than 20 to the gallon surely
-
Well, my MK5 average is around the 30 mark with motorway and town driving. Id expect to see an R with me driving to be around the 22-25 area (average of course).
IMO you getting 25 is pretty low (but thats another topic in itself).
-
Yeh true! maybe look at MAF! , First thing to do to the R would be exhaust flap mod! they sound so good!
-
i seem to remember at one of the r-tech rolling road days there was someone running around 272bhp with exhuast, remap and schrick cams. R32's can be tuned without a turbo and get high 200's but if you want to break the 300bhp mark then you need forced induction.
If your coming to the r-tech RR day on 19th june then there will be a mk4 r32 turbo on the rollers
-
Guessing wont be beating his roller figures then

Unless you take out the fuse for the ECU :lipsrsealed:
-
I might just take the turbo off our tractor at home and put it on the Mk4 , gota see 650 bhp at least !
-
just make sure you dont tow the plough down as it wont fit on the rollers.
Nick will be like - Get off my land
-
Ha! i might take the muckspreader and do him some free interior design
